Dr Michael Rowe

Consultant Clinical Oncologist with interests spanning specialist cancer care, clinical research, medical leadership and public oncology education.

Mike is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, where he joined in June 2024. Born and raised in France, he moved to the UK in 2007 for medical training and completed his higher specialty training in Clinical Oncology in the South West Peninsula region in 2024.

He specialises in the treatment of urological, upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers. He has a strong interest in research, having previously chaired a national trainee research collaborative, and is Principal Investigator on a number of clinical trials.

His other main professional interest is medical leadership. He currently serves as departmental Clinical Service Lead.

Mike co-hosts the weekly oncology podcast Simply Oncology with Dr John McGrane. Aimed at both specialists and non-specialists, it crosses tumour sites and explores an increasingly complex but fascinating specialty through clear, practical conversations.

Based in the Sunrise Centre

Mike's NHS consultant practice is based in the Sunrise Centre at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. Private services advertised on this website are separate from his NHS role.
